Pre Heresy Alpha Legion Rhino

This is the test model for the Pre-Heresy Army I'm building for the Horus Heresy Tournament at Adepticon this year. It might be Alpha Legion, it might be Awesome Legion. I was lucky enought to pick up a gold with it the NOVA Open Capital Palette Painting Comp in September.

Australian Light Horseman

I painted this guy up for Historicon. He didn't place there but he came in second or third (I honestly can't remember, duh) at the NOVA Open Capital Palette Painting Competition. The Capital Palette was a great little contest, It's amazing how much quality work is popping up at regional shows these days!

Goblin Big Boss(es)

I've been a bad, bad blogger. Work has been a bit nuts, but I have painted a few things in recent months. First up is this two headed Night Goblin I painted for the campaign my gaming group has been playing. The GM awarded me a two-headed hero with buffed stats for winning some game or other and it seemed wrong not to make a figure to represent him.

I also took him along to Historicon this summer and entered him in the Wargames Illustrated Painting Competition. He ended up getting a gold in the Fantasy Single category. Yay!

Quick and Dirty Farseer

Strangely enough, I didn't have a Farseer painted so I banged one out quickly so I can play some games with him soon.

More Wraithbuddies

Here is my first unit from the new release, some Wraithguard with D-Scythes. I was tempted to just cut the ends off the barrels of five of my old metal Wraithguard and replace them with the D-Scythe muzzels but I decided the new models were super neato and I wanted to paint some. Either way D-Scythes will be fun to play with and will make lots of Space Marines die horribly, which is what it is all about.

As soon as I can get my hands on some more Wave Serpents, I will adding them to the army to ferry these dudes around. GW managed to time a worldwide shortage of freaking Wave Serpents to go along with the Eldar Release. I'm also working out how I'm going to convert Guardian Jetbikes and Warp Spiders so hopefully those will be coming up soon. As much as I like all of my Wraith-stuff, all of the fast 'n' shooty stuff seems like it will be both face crushing and fun to play.

Hornet

I've been working on some Eldar stuff now that the new book is out. First up, something I've had siting around for a while, a Forgeworld Hornet. Pew Pew!

Back on the Hobby Horse

In case you hadn't noticed I took a hobby break for a month or so after Adepticon but I just picked up the new Eldar codex and a box of Wraithguard/Wraithblades. I did a bunch of painting on a Farseer and a Forge World Hornet and should have photos up soon. I'm off to lay in the hammock and read about space elf mans.
