Pre Heresy Alpha Legion Librarian and Moritat

Here are two more HQ choices for my army. These bring me up to about 4,000 points!

Pre Heresy Alpha Legion Forge Lord

I made this guy out of the Iron Hands Forge Father, bleeding fingers and broken guitar strings. He is kitted out with A Sero Arm, Chainfist, Combi-Melta, Rad Grenades, Cyber Familiar and Cataphracci Terminator armor. That gives him a 2+ save, 3+ inv. Save, 4 S8 Ap2 attacks and he reduces his opponents Tougness by one in close combat! He will make an excellent Dreadnought and Automata hunter!

Pre Heresy Alpha Legion Rapiers with Heavy Bolters

You don't see many Heavy Bolter Rapiers getting used but I think they look cool and will be handy for killing Dave Taylor's Thallax. They are Hardly an über-unit but I think they are pound for pound better than a tactical marine, aside from not being able to secure objectives. They are a MUCH better buy than Heavy Support Squads with Heavy Bolters, that is for sure.

Here is a blast from the past. I used to be big into the Lord of The Rings Strategy Battle Game. Despite the endless disparaging it received from interweb neckbeards for taking GW resources away from 40K, it is a wonderful little game. I painted several armies including Angmar, Grey Company and a couple of Mordor ones. These dwarves are my definitely my favorite though!

I don't usually post many photos of unfinished models but here goes nothing. Painting is already underway for all of these guys, so hopefully some updates soon!

15,000 Point (Per Side) Epic Scale Horus Heresy Blowout

I went up to Rhode Island recently for the yearly get-together with my nerd crew and a humongous Epic was the main event. I brought along the Legio Gryphonicus Titans I had been working on but my forces were dwarfed by the massive efforts of my friends Ty and Jake. Ty has been painting scores and scores of models for The Sons of Horus, Death Guard and Emperor's Children. He also has a whole World Eaters army in the works. Not to be outdone, our friend Jake showed up with 10,000 points worth of beautifully painted Imperial Fists.

The game itself was a massive affair and we enlisted the help of or friends John, Matt and Robin to help roll buckets of dice. After many hours, two turns, and hundreds of models moved to the sideboard; the Traitors were victorious, gaining just enough victory points to end the game. I can't say it wasn't a relief! Looking forward to more (and perhaps slightly less ambitious) games in the future. Extra special super bro shout-out to Ty who wrote a whole new Epic 30K ruleset, created a massive set of counters, built the scenery and hosted the whole affair!

Epic Scale Legio Gryphonicus Titans

And now for something completely different...

My hobby pals sucked me into Epic, of all things. Here is my big little Legion Gryphanicus Army. I never liked the turbo lasers sticking out of the Warlords shoulders so I gave them turrets instead. These guys also gave me a chance to work on my color modulation and my airbrushing skills in general. They took part in a truly Epic Horus Heresy battle last weekend. Photos coming soon!
